Trista and Lief | Married!

This wedding is in my top 5 weddings I have done of all time. It was amazing! It took place at Pine Peaks Retreat & Event Center in Crosslake, MN which is about 3 hours away from where the couple is originally from. There were a lot of family and friends taking the drive to witness this cutie couple get married. Being from Minnesota, when March comes around the last thing you want to think about is a snow storm. Well, that is exactly what happened, and what many had to drive in.  I think it just made the wedding that much more beautiful in more ways than just visually.

When I arrived the bride was starting to get her hair and makeup done along with her bridesmaids in the most beautiful log cabin. The snow was starting to fall pretty steady with big juicy flakes. The retreat is pretty much out in the middle of nowhere. Plowing needed to be done, as well as shoveling. If you know the groom and groomsmen they are country boys to the core, they were all out there moving cars and shoveling. Doing what needed to be done and loving it. All while the girls were inside getting pretty.

Due to the weather, the ceremony ended up getting pushed back a little. People were having a slow time getting to the ceremony due to the bad roads. Totally stress free for this couple. Nobody minded, everyone just hung out and waited. Once the ceremony did start, about halfway into it, the electricity went out due to the heavy snow. They just kept on. The electricity was out for around 2 hours before they were able to get generators and then coming on fully. It was so much more of an adventure and an awesome experience than it was a headache and stress like one would think.

Trista and Lief have been together for quite sometime. They have gone through a lot together. Even though they have been together for years, you would never be able to tell. It was like they just fell in love. My favorite thing to take pictures of, which I believe doesn’t happen as much as it should – soul mates.

This wedding was exactly what EVERY wedding should be. A stress free ceremony and party with people you love. It wasn’t a strict, stressful, overly formal event like I have seen before. Just beautiful. And I once again feel so lucky to have been a part of it. I have the best job EVER. I get to go to these happy, beautiful, full of love situations, that I would not normally get to go. Right there with the stunning bride through out her whole wedding day, capturing it for her so she will have something to always remember everything about that day. Seriously, how lucky am I to be able to give that to her?
